Comfortable and Unobtrusive with Good Performance June 27, 2010 Lawrence Lee (Menlo Park, CA USA) I ordered the Samsung WEP500 after losing my Plantronic Discovery 925. I like the smallness of the WEP500 but was worried about the negative reviews. Now that I have used it for about a month, I am very happy with the WEP500. It paired up with my iPhone 3GS (and later iPhone 4) easily. The sound was clear on both ends (according to the person on the other end) even while I was driving (with windows closed). The complains that others made about the talk button is true, it is easy to accidentally press the button and initiate a call by mistake. But with a little practice it is entirely preventable. I prefer the WEP500's button look over the 925's microphone arm. It seems much less conspicuous and distracting to others. It is comfortable to wear and stays on well with the right size ear loop. The small size (with case) of the headset also make it easy to keep it in my pants pocket. Overall, I think the WEP500 is a great buy (especially when it is $35-$45) and definitely underrated.
Excellent product April 30, 2009 Bahadir Kurtar (Berkeley, CA) Tiny and useful.Sound quality is great.I use it with my iPhone 3G and it works well.
Good small headset April 21, 2009 buzzy This headset is works quite well, except it is too easy to accidentally activate the call-back button, as one button serves several purposes.
Works but not recommended April 1, 2009 S. Thorpe (Frederick, Md United States) I bought this to replace a lost Jabra BT-8040. Compared to the Jabra - the Samsung WEP500 is sub-par. I experienced a lot of audio quality issues (i.e. cracking) even when the headset and phone were very close. On a subjective note - the Samsung did not fit well for my ear either. I eventually purchased another Jabra BT-8040.
Poor sound quality, miserably uncomfortable March 29, 2009 D. Figueroa (Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I did not buy my wep500 from this seller, but regardless, be forewarned: This headset may be compact, but it's horribly uncomfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes, falls out of my ear constantly & I find myself having to adjust it every few minutes. With the talk button at the top, that means that I end up redialing the last call I placed or received. Very annoying.
Despite the myriad earbuds included, not one of them fits me properly. My ears are a bit small, but I had far less trouble with the jawbone II. This headset definitely needs an earloop, clearly a design flaw.
Forget using it outside, the slightest breeze renders it impossible to use.
My husband has a jawbone II, which has far better sound, but is quickly developing battery life issues.
I think the next stop may be the Plantronics 925.
Save your money, even at 23 dollars, it's simply not worth it, unless you have the rare ear canal that can handle it & you don't need any noise cancellation.
