Ford Triton Engine BLOWN SPARK PLUGS.
My Ford Triton engine has ejected spark plugs TWICE from the flimsy aluminum cylinder heads. An INSERT also ejected, so please be warned, INSERTS CAN BE A BAND-AID repair! I repeat, "INSERTS" ARE ALSO BLOWING OUT OF THE ALUMINUM CYLINDER HEADS... Inserts ARE ALSO PRONE TO FAILURE. THOUSANDS of dissatisfied owners have had this same problem and many people advise this is a faulty head design, thanks to FoMoCo. Instead of "repairing" the spark plug boss AGAIN with ANOTHER insert, I bought a JASPER REMANUFACTURED ENGINE and am starting (basically) from "Ground Zero" with a lot of new parts, new timing chains, new pistons, new rings, new bearings, new hoses, new belts, freshly rebuilt fuel injectors... the list goes on! Upon arrival of the Jasper engine, my installer, Fain Automotive in Abilene, Texas didn't like the new exhaust gaskets that came with the Jasper kit and he purchased standard Ford OEM gaskets instead. The Ford OEM gaskets looked "beefier" and since I have experience with airplane engines, not car engines. After looking at the difference in the exhaust gaskets, I'm DELIGHTED Fain went with the pricy Ford gaskets instead. They simply look like they will hold up better to the escaping exhaust gas coming out of the combustion chamber, going into the exhaust manifold.
